Here’s a short bio about me. I live in Homer, Alaska, and I am a creative consultant, director, choreographer, and designer for theatre and dance. I am the recipient of an individual artist fellowship in choreography from the Alaska State Council on the Arts and I have taught for over thirty years in higher education and private practice. My academic degrees are a B.F.A. in Modern Dance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, a M.A. in Performing Arts from Alaska Pacific University, and a Ph.D. in Transformative Studies from the California Institute of Integral Studies. Creativity, complexity, and consciousness studies are among my research interests, and I also pursue an avid interest in curriculum design. I have Peer Reviewer, Master Reviewer, and K-12 and Publisher Reviewer certifications through Quality Matters, “a national benchmark for online course design,” and I hold an Advanced Online Teaching Certificate from the Online Learning Consortium (OLC). In my world learning is exciting and fun! I am always happiest when I am learning something new, and I look forward to the next learning adventure with you.

My name is Alex Antonio Arregui Mestanza and I am a bilingual Galápagos National Park Certified
Naturalist Guide with more than 29 years experience in tourist services. I have combined my extensive travel experience and my encyclopedic knowledge of Galápagos history and biology into a successful freelance career. I possess strong problem-solving, time management, and interpersonal skills. My motto is “makes you happy, makes me happy”. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Biology at the University of Guayaquil in 1989, a certificate in Tourism and Hospitality from Instituto Tecnologico Superior Franklin Verduga Loor in 1994, and a Master’s Degree in Eco-tourism and Business Administration from the University of Birmingham (England) in 2000. I began my career as a Research Assistant at the Charles Darwin Research Station in Puerto Ayora, Galápagos from 1990 to 1993.
